Metro and Delhi go hand in hand. For all Delhi metro customers, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new bike taxi riding service. On November 11, 2024, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, formally introduced this most recent innovation.

This bike taxi service guarantees shorter, more effective journey times by optimising rider routes. DMRC Momentum (Delhi Sarthi 2.0), the official Delhi Metro mobile app, is where customers can make reservations for the service. Dwarka Sec-21, Dwarka Sec-10, Dwarka Sec-14, Dwarka Mor, Janakpuri West, Uttam Nagar East, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Kirti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Millennium City Centre Gurugram, and Palam are the 12 Metro stations where the bike taxi service is currently offered. By keeping the bike taxi drivers inside a predetermined radius, the journey time is shortened.

Bicycle taxis are available in two varieties: RYDR for all commuters and SHE RYDS for women, operated by women. SHE RYDS offers female riders safe and secure travel by using women-driven bike taxis that have been trained and verified. It gives women the freedom to go anywhere they want, whenever they want, and safely. For female drivers, it also provides financial prospects.

Between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, a total of 50 SHERYDS and 150 RYDR will operate from the existing 12 metro stations within a 3- to 5-kilometre radius.

This service uses electric bikes to lessen its carbon footprint. Real-time GPS tracking and ride monitoring are features of the service. The bike taxi is reasonably priced. The minimum fee is ₹10, and after that, it charges ₹10 per km for the first two kilometres and ₹8 each km.

It is truly a great initiative by the DMRC.
